New to the Jade Dragon series?  Go to beginning>>

When I wished for magic, I was ensorcelled.

When I wished for knowledge, I learned too much.

When I wished to fly, you weighed me down with the broken shell of your desire.

This post is part of the Jade Dragon series. Though I try to make these installments enjoyable as individual pieces, I highly recommend that you read the series from the beginning to really get what’s going on.

This post was written in response to the Trifecta Writing Challenge Trifextra prompt:

Write 33 words exactly about three wishes that come at a high price to the wisher.

  2. Great continuation of Jade, great entry for the challenge!

  3. I haven’t read the previous installments but this was excellent all by itself.

  4. The end left me melancholy. This was a thought provoking piece. Now I will be off to read the others.

  5. Being weighed down when your ready to fly is always a struggle. Great continuation of the story. I really do like that series 🙂

  6. Very standalone piece. I have read some of Jade, but not enough to remember well.

  7. Very nice extension of Jade, which I have enjoyed very much! This is sadder than the previous installments, which is funny because nobody died in this one.

  8. I shall have to go and read Jade, but this does work really well as a standalone. Sigh … hate to be weighed down when I’m flying, right?

  9. “Broken shell of desire,” how vivid!
