Skipping Stones

Take this crude heart. Shape it. Make it shine. Etch your name on my skin and flick your wrist. Each time I skim the surface of something deep, make me think of you.

This post was made in response to the Trifecta Writing Challenge weekend prompt, in which the editors asked us to write exactly 33 words about anything at all.

This week’s challenge is community-judged! If you like my little piece, please visit the Trifecta site starting at 5:00 PM US Pacific (8:00 US PM Eastern) to vote for your three favorites. I highly encourage you to read the other entries – there are some remarkably talented writers over there.

And if you’re in a voting mood, my little story Fireworks is hanging out with only 16 votes over at CausePub. I’d love it if you gave it a read, left a comment, maybe even a thumbs up.

I am one of those people who love quote tattoos, and I absolutely 100% would love to get this tattooed on my personage: “Each time I skim the surface of something deep, make me think of you.”

    Oh. Oh my.
my heart twisted just reading it, I’ve been thinking of old loves recently and this brought me to a place where my heart “knelt” with nostalgia.

    it was beautiful my friend.
