There was a time when words would fly between us, thick as snow. The whirls and eddies caught us up and set us down in ever-deeper drifts. All that’s left now is ice.

You should write a creative response using the given word. You must use the word in your response, and you must use it correctly. Your response can be no fewer than 33 and no more than 333 words. This week’s word is:
FLY (intransitive verb)

I had intended this to be longer, but the more I refined it, the closer it got to 33 words. I guess that’s how it was meant to be!
