He would love me were it not for you. King or Champion, husband or lover? Forgive my lack of sympathy, that you must choose. Choose and have done, and let my heart break.
This post was made in response to the Trifecta Writing Challenge weekend Trifextra prompt, in which the editors asked us for 33 words about a famous trio.
This weekend’s Trifextra challenge is community-judged! For the 14 hours following the close of the challenge (starting at 5:00 PM Pacific/8:00 PM Eastern on Sunday), voting will be enabled on links. Congrats, Christine!
I spent the weekend up in the garden kicking around the idea of your trio, but couldn’t really get a handle I wanted on it. Now I know why. You were doing it perfectly! < 3

I love the Arthurian stories. I love that you brought a lesser known figure forward.

Somehow I hadn’t heard about Elaine before. I knew about Guinevere and Lancelot, but not about Elaine. Very sad.

Camelot has always fascinated me (and I’ve written of this triangle before) – so of course, I’m smitten with your response!

I’ve always thought that this particular trio sort of made their own hell, by their actions. You’ve illustrated that well.

I think so too, which is why I feel so strongly for Elaine. It’s such a convoluted story.

Wow – you’ve written this beautifully and though it does refer to the prompt, it could also be new. Wonderful writing.

Oh. Why am I crying? Your words were so poetic and achingly beautiful, those choices will rip you apart every time.
They say I do love well, but you do it BETTER.
