I don’t mean to set you on a pedestal, to bend your truth back under the weight of my fictions. I lie, again and again, in the hollow of your perfection. This time I will listen when you beg me to stop.

But your fiction is so compelling. Why would anyone ask you to stop that? 😉 Enjoyed this.

An enjoyable read. I tend to be a rather verbose writer myself, not knowing when to quit.

Love love love the two meanings of this: “I lie, again and again, in the hollow of your perfection.” So good.

It’s hard to live up to a person you believe is better than you, especially when you love them (more than yourself).
I was sad at the end of it, feeling the full weight of “stopping” but that’s what made it so eloquent.

Pedestals mean one thing. The person falls off. As always, your word crafting is stellar!

I love the depth of meaning in this. We do so often set people up on a pedestal, diminishing ourselves but mis-reading them as well. No one is perfect but sometimes people seem as though they might be. Beautiful words, with a beautiful flow.

I love everything about this. Honesty, emotion, vulnerability…it’s all here in just 42 words. Gorgeous.
