It’s often considered that females are against the “end of everything”. Still, you have painted the opposite using a female admiral. Sometimes it’s imperative to get the job done. Good.

I loved the way you used rancor here, it said so much in one line. I also loved that this was layered with anticipation in the way you kept the lines short and succinct.

I really liked that it wasn’t revealed straight away that the Admiral is female. There is an absence of a stereotype based on gender. Well done.
