I’m pleased to say I’ve won an honorable mention in the Dreamers Creative Writing 2020 Haiku Contest! I submitted on a whim, but I really do like my little poem. While I love writing poetry (especially formal poetry), I don’t consider myself a poet. I do like poetic language, and try to incorporate some of the things poetry teaches us about metaphor, theme, and rhythm into my prose.
