A month or two ago, Peter Chiykowski (creator of the wildly successful Story Engine Deck) put out a call for writers who might be interested in being featured on his blog. I had just been playing with the print-at-home version of the Story Engine Deck with my kiddos, and we’d been in gigglefits the whole time, making up the most improbably stories. (Someday, we’ll write them down.) I shot Peter a note, let him know what a great time we were having, and proposed a post about writing with kids. To my delight, he accepted!

Kids Say (and Write) the Darnedest Things: How To Write Like a Kid Again
I probably could have said a lot more, gone into more depth—kids really can be an inspiration—but, well, I got interrupted (go figure), and then I came up against the deadline. Still, I had fun writing this and it was a good reminder to take a breath and enjoy the entire process from start to finish.
Let me know what you think!
